Guardians of the (not quite) Galaxy!

[ The crisp air of September beginning to settle in, evening was beginning to fall around Valoran Institute. Students scuttled from club meetings to their dorms, or toward the cafeterias scattered around campus for an early dinner. It was peaceful; a gentle breeze passed through the trees, and a few leaves, freshly fallen to the ground, danced in the wind.

Peaceful, or so it would seem.

They marched in a line, not a one falling out of step. Brick and mortar crumbled as their barreled toward the school's otherwise pristine gates, and students scattered, screaming for fear of what would happen if they were caught in the crossfire. Were they under attack?! By who?! These creatures were strange--not quite the minions that inhabited the fields of justice. They were different. Destructive. Deadly.

Running only seemed to entice these monsters further and, wall finally falling enough to make a clear path, the armies flooded in. Screams echoed over the campus, ringing in the crisp, early evening air. VI, you might have a bit of a super minion problem. ]

[ Orianna strolls through the courtyard, towards the direction the students were screaming from, and studies them carefully at a distance.

They do look quite hostile, and while she was built not for battle, but as a replacement, her father did install some self-defense mechanisms in her systems.

Besides, she's not made of soft, bloody flesh, and won't fall apart so easily. ]

[ Leaving late after discussing strategy for recruiting new members with Ezreal (and butting heads about the idea at least once), Lux was looking forward to a date with a good book, maybe a nice bubble bath...

The screams stopped her in her tracks, however, the blond looking around for the source of the noise. It was true, she had always been gifted in magic, but she hadn't exactly been trained to use it to help people. Still, a Demacian never runs away.

Instead, ditching her backpack in a safe place (because she didn't want to lose her notes or anything like that!), Lux sprinted toward the commotion, noticing a familiar automaton. ]

Orianna?! What are you doing, you need to get out of here! Come on!

[ She doesn't want something to happen to her friend again, and if Ori wasn't going to leave of her own volition, Lux would drag her if she had to. She took the other girl's hand, ready to pull her off. ]

[ Orianna closes her hand gently around Lux's by reflex, but she loosens it when she registers what the other blonde is saying. ]

This is no danger to me.

[ Super minions are not in her database. She only sees minions, and they are a lot easier to deal with. ]

But you may need to leave.

[The trick with buffed minions is to destroy the thing that's buffing them. Whether it's an item-carrier, a Baron-buffed champion, or a super minion, there's always a head to the snake that can be severed. It's in the best tactical interest of the minions' owner to keep that head protected and hidden at all cost.

Absolutely none of this has occurred to Veigar, who is standing atop the shoulders of a gigantic minion and cackling as he waves a scepter crackling with dark energy.]

BWAHAHAHA! That's it, that's it! Tear this wretched place into rubble! NOW who's the "little guy", huh!?

[ Two girls stand in the courtyard, seeming to have a conflict of their own. ]

No danger?

[ Nope, she's not going to let this happen. ]

I'm not going anywhere. Not without you!

[ Still attempting to get her friend to move, Lux takes in the surroundings, noticing the pint-sized megalomaniac practically crowd surfing atop the minion horde. What was he holding? Could that have something to do with this? ]

OKAY I AM HERE NOW

Veigar, you big meanie! Why didn't you invite me to play?!

[Someone was swinging on a tree earlier in the courtyard, only now noticing the commotion of screaming children. Oh, is it screaming around school day?!

While she notices the two girls having their own conflict, Lulu took her attention to Veigar once she notices him. That's her cue to slide down the tree in a leaf-covered uniform and in her long purple hair that she fails to put up. A little purple sprite pops out of her hair, observing the situation as well.]

You know I love minion riding parades and you started without me!

[ Oh, are we looking at him now?

Perhaps it would be better to focus on the source. She turns to face Veigar, hand still in Lux's, but instead of her loose grip before, she squeezes it gently to show her support. If she's going to stay, then, Ori isn't going to stop her. She did try. ]

Yes. Perhaps you should cease before we make you.

[ The hand squeeze didn't go unnoticed, and while her friend may not be able to feel it as distinctly in her state, Lux returned the gesture firmly before staring down the horde. ]

That's right, you're not going to hurt anyone else! Not if we can help it!

[ Hearing something, Lux paused. Wait a second, she knew that voice. Looking around, she spied the purple-haired Yordle as she jumped down from her leafy hide-away.

...What was she even going on about? Really, did Lux have to ask, this was Lulu after all. ]

Lulu, watch out! Get away from there!

[ She rushed toward Lulu, her hand still gripping Orianna's. If the girl resisted, she would let go, but her priority was getting to the younger girl and ushering her to safety.

Between Lux making her and Orianna's presences known, and Lulu out and out goading them on, the super charged super minions turn slightly (better hang on, Veig), bombarding them with a barrage of baron-buffed bullets. ]

L-Lulu!? What are you doing here!? [Veigar clearly hadn't been aware of the younger girl's presence on the team, and there's an edge of nervousness in his voice. Decisions, decisions...]

Grrr, why does everything have to be so complicated... alright, minions! Destroy the tall ones! Leave the yordle, she will... uh.... make a fine captive! But definitely destroy the tall ones! A lot! Mwahahahaha!

[ Orianna lets go of Lux's hand, although it wasn't intentional, she felt like it would be more important to hold up a front line against the minions if the other Blonde were to be protecting the child. ]

You will do no such thing. [ god you tiny man come here and let me pick you up by your colar.

She goes straight for Veigar, with the aim to give him a whack. ]

[ If this weren't such a tense situation, Lux might actually pay attention to what Veigar had to say. Really, all she got from that was "tall ones," "captive" and maniacal laughter. That's all she needed to hear, really.

Unfortunately, the minion wave took little heed to what Veigar had to say, blanketing the courtyard with magical bolts, showing no prejudice between tall or short. There was nowhere to dodge, nowhere to run and certainly nowhere to hide after the amount of collateral damage they put out. ]

Orianna! Lulu!

[ She had to do something! She wanted to protect her friends! She wanted to stop this miniature megalomaniac and his minion mob from destroying their school!

As if something--or someone--happened to hear her wish, the area around them burst into a flood of light. Her chest felt hot, like it was about to burst. She had to do something, or-- ]

Starlight Miracle Illumination!

[ Did it just get a lot brighter here? ]

Woah-!

[That sure is minions firing bolts at two of her older friends meanwhile other minions are heading straight towards her. What really got her attention is that sudden light burst coming from Lux and the area around them is covered in light.]

Oh, oh, oh! I wanna do that too! Eh-?

[Not only did a feeling get put into her chest, but Pix is glowing awfully bright in her hair, which got her to notice and take her friend out into her hand to check him out.]

Pix?

[He changed from a dark purple with butterfly wings to a lighter tint of purple, his wings replaced with a feathery pattern. What-]

Whimsical Miracle Pixification!

[Things just got brighter and more glitter with that brightness.]

Oh, you have GOT to be KIDDING! [veigar is flabbergasted by the transformation sequences- since when did the GOOD guys have superpowers!? this wasn't fair!]

[it seemed lux and lulu were distracted by their transformations, leaving orianna as the biggest threat. as the lady of clockwork neared him, veigar gestured towards her with the scepter, dark energy pulsing...]

You're just trying to bully me like everyone else, aren't you!? Well, we'll see about that! DARK MATTER!

[not unlike his rift-traipsing canon counterpart, veigar's spell summons a blast of dark energy from the sky, rocketing down towards orianna's position!]

[ She does not understand.

But she feels the overwhelming urge to save her friends, and for that she.... she feels something in her chest, and as Orianna clasps a hand in front of her mechanical heart, she feels a cog. ]

Command Miracle Upgrade!

[ as if we need more sparkles. Luckily, Orianna's is not as bright as Lux, nor as glittery as Lulu, but she transforms nonetheless, and a ball appears around her like a shield to protect her from some of the damage of the Dark Matter.

...It still hurts, but it at least dampened the damage. ]

Gah! Wh-What... What are you!? This isn't fair! I was promised power! I was promised...

[the tiny master of evil lets out a snarl, then lunges forward with the scepter. his anger and rage take the form of another blast of dark energy, hurtling straight towards orianna!]

Um...

[ That was a really good question, Veigar, and normally Lux might have taken the time to assess the situation (and her now mysteriously bubblegum pink hair), but instead, as if by instinct, the newly transformed magical girl pointed directly at him. ]

Who are we? We're defenders of love and justice! Hey!

[ Were you seriously trying to attack one of her friends during her monologue?! Totally not cool! That's not how it works! ]

Light Binding!

[ Swinging her staff, a star-shaped light flew straight at Veigar. He probably should have stayed behind his minion wave. You can cool your heels for a second, evil little thing. She was confident enough in Orianna's being able to get away. ]

I don't care what you were promised, but I won't let you hurt anyone else! I'm the Star Guardian, and by the light of Demacia I will punish you!

[ ...Hey, that actually sounded kind of cool! ]

The Star what-now? How ridiculous! A mere mortal like you could never- ACK! [probably should have spent a little less time talking and a little more time dodging, veigar. both the yordle and his superminion are suddenly wrapped in the light binding!]
