WEATHER
Expect warmer than normal temperatures through mid September, with cooler weather settling in around the later half, especially at night. The trees around Valoran Institute will start to turn colors around this time as well, ushering in a crisp, albeit somewhat dry, end of the month.
ONGOING THROUGH SEPTEMBER
BACK TO SCHOOL! It's that time again, school is back in session. Did you get into all the classes you wanted? Do you like all your teachers? And who is that new kid sitting next to you? This is going to be your year, kid, we just know it. Year for what? Who knows!
SCHOOL SPIRIT! We have spirit, yes we do! Classes from VPrep, VCad and VU compete to see who has the most Poro Pride in this week-long display of pep! Don your school colors of white and blue, and even catch the band performing! What class will win?
CLUBS! With the new school year starting, school clubs and other extra curriculars are hitting the pavement and looking for new recruits. Some have already started to get into the swing of things, but that means voting for Club President and Vice-President. Will you run?
AUTUMN FAIR! Come be one with nature with the annual Valoran Autumn Fest, taking place just outside of campus. Come pet farm animals, play games, go on exciting rides, eat lots of food that may or may not be good for you, and, of course, go to the fireworks at night.
WILD CARD! Come up with your own prompt!
MONSTERS OF THE MONTH!
Supercharged minions have been trickling out of the Institute of War and attacking the hallowed halls of Valoran Institute. Usually this wouldn't be a problem, but along with being baron buffed, they're much larger and aggressive than usual! There are some seen that are bigger than a man!
MINI EVENT!
TOLO DANCE MONSTER MASH! Institute is hosting their annual Tolo Dance. What's a Tolo dance, you ask? The girls ask the boys! They can say no, of course, but would you really want to be caught dead without a date? Of course not! The weather is supposed to be a bit chilly that evening, so you better cuddle in close. We also hear there's a chance of Voidling showers, so come prepared!
(This log will be live on May 16th)
Science nerds--I mean Olympiads, unite!
She might have been out of breath. She didn't run, because that was breaking the rules, but there may have been a lot of very brisk, borderline rule-breaking walking going on. ]
Re: Science nerds--I mean Olympiads, unite!
Yo!
Science nerds--I mean Olympiads, unite!
It didn't help her blood pressure, though.
Standing there for a moment, taking in a deep breath to try to center herself, she walked in, closing the door after her. ]
Ezreal.
[ Ugh. ]
When did you get here? Class just got out five minutes ago.
[ And she happens to know that you have a class in the other building. Not that she's a stalker or anything. It's good to keep tabs on your "coworkers." Even if you have a personal beef because they stole your thunder.
Not that she's mad about it or anything. She just hopes you fall out of your chair in the most comedic way possible. ]

But we've only been in class for a week and a half! How could you know every single shortcut here?
[ She's calling your bluff here, Ez. There's no way he would know something like that. He skipped, or left early, or something, she's sure of it! And she was going to nail him on it. ]

[ That was how he got in, supposedly. But whether that was true or just smoke and mirrors went sight unseen. Mapping the entirety of Piltover's underground? She'd believe it when she saw it.
Sitting down at the extremely small table that they had to share as co-presidents, she pulled out a notebook and a pen. ]
Well, since you're already here, we should probably discuss a few things. Mr. Ziggs tells me that enrollment and retention are both down, and that, as it stands, if we lose even one more member we won't be tournament legal. What do you propose we do about this?

She raises an eyebrow. ]
Oh? Like who? Do you really think they would join?

She's decent at maths, and science is just applied maths is it not?
Exactly on time, Orianna walks in through the door. ]
no subject
Orianna? I didn't expect to see you here.
[ Not that she minded. Far from it, in fact. There were too many boys here anyway. ]

[ She opens her bag, and pulls out a book. ]
I have been researching Mathematics. I would like someone to "bounce ideas" off.

Also having another girl, and a friend of hers to boot, would be really nice. The blond clapped her hands together, smiling. ]
All right, let's hear them. Tell me what you've got.
[ She stands up, pulling out a chair for the other girl. She's entirely too happy about this. ]

The vector spaces over a linear field. Let us consider the transformations from one to another, say U and V over space K.
[ ... blah blah blah. Orianna speaks clinically and runs her fingers over the corresponding pieces of proof in her notebook. She has underlined in red things that she is unsure about, and hands Lux a pencil of her own so that she may write her own input. ]

That's an interesting theory to be sure. Being able to come up with something that is proof in and of itself that you're in the right place. I would be happy to have you on the team.

Thank you. [ She closes the book. ]
Is there certain things that one must know to be an Olympiad?

Back to School!
Summer Vacation should be a relaxing thing, but when you live on the top of a mountain inhabited by ancient sun worshipers, it could get a little intense. Honestly she was looking forwards to this year!
Back to School!
Was that a woman carrying a box bigger than her torso on one shoulder? Was her hand just as big as the box she was holding? Followed by a wispy-looking student, looking on in horror as the pink-haired woman deftly stepped over the scattered remains of moving day.
"210 right?"
Adjusting slightly to put the box down, it narrowly misses Leona as Vi sets the thing down not-so gently, the telltale sound of shattering glass coming from its contents.
"Whoops. That sounded fragile."
Did she sound sorry? Hell no she didn't. She even chuckled a bit as the wimpy looking freshman rushed toward the box, face pale. Seeing Leona there--she obviously didn't notice that she nearly took out the woman's nose--she grinned, giving her a two-fingered wave. "Yo."
no subject
Vi didn't, though, and so Leona almost walked face first into her, stopping just in time to avoid being brained by the huge box. She glanced at Vi, down to the student she was 'helping', then to the box, then back to Vi.
"Hello."

Still, this chick seemed interesting enough. It wasn't everyday you saw someone so tall.

Of course, everyone knows about Sion Hall, the Designated Party Dorm.
COME JOIN THE TRACK TEAM
anyway, sitting at a sign-up desk while the sun shone down on the campus - pretty much everywhere but where nidalee was sitting - was not her idea of fun, but hey.
needs must.
lounging back in the chair as she eyes up the students walking past, the senior puts her feet up on the sign-up table and tilts the chair back, every bit the image of relaxation. at least this way, she'd still be able to get some vitamin d while scouting out fresh meat for what was probably the best track team in runeterra.
c'mon, come sign up. you know you want to. ]
/15 MINUTES LATE WITH STARBUCKS
She lingered at each area, looking over any information and politely allowing the students to sell their clubs to her. Nothing really seemed to click with her yet, but maybe track would be different? ]
