WEATHER

November proves to be unusually cold this year, with a heavy frost setting in around the second day of the month and lingering throughout. Temperatures during the day are brisk, leading toward positively cold nights, and some begin to wonder whether the school will see an early snowfall this year. Flurries will begin to set in around the 28th of the month.

ONGOING THROUGH NOVEMBER

GIVE THANKS! November ushers in the last of the harvest festivals, and with them, people are encouraged to come together and give thanks for the bountiful harvest for the year. What does this entail? Festivals around the area, usually with livestock and produce, and, of course, parties with lots and lots of food!
EXAMS! The dreaded mid-terms. You knew this time was coming. Did you study for your tests? Do your tests even matter to you? Teachers, are you a sadist? Or will you show your poor students a bit of mercy (the answer is no, you should never show them mercy)? Heaven or Hell, let's rock these tests!
WATCH OUT! The campus has become a dangerous place lately, and we don't just mean the monster attacks! With temperatures dipping below freezing, frost and ice will begin to spread at a surprising rate. It seems a bit suspicious, actually...
OPEN HOUSE! This time of year is notorious for family members to stop by and visit, and, as such, Valoran Institute will be hosting an open house during the early part of the month. Catch up with your dear aunts and uncles, pester your kid siblings, or maybe just try to avoid getting embarrassed by your parents. Good luck, it never works.

MONSTERS OF THE MONTH!
Things seem to be relatively quiet around the campus, surprisingly enough. It seems that those valorous vigilantes have been gaining a bit of notoriety, judging by how the student body has begun talking about them. But don't get too complacent. Rumor has it that strange robed figures have been spotted around the campus, late at night.

MINI EVENT!

MID-TERM STRETCH! With mid-terms over around the 13th, the faculty have gotten together to play a game. In line with their tradition of nurturing young, strong and tactical minds, they have concocted what they call the Mid-Term Stretch! Students will be pitted against each other in a competition. The sport? To be determined. Although rumor has it that it may have something to do with paint...

[George transitions in pretty smoothly as Ezreal leads Lux down the hallway. He doesn't cut their course for awhile, until he suddenly opens the door to a nearby classroom (was it always unlocked?) and pulls her in]

See? Too easy. There's a shortcut through here that'll get us back to the dorms.

[ As they walk, she attempts to work out how he managed to pull this off. Where did he get that name tag? How did he convince George to play along? And where was he taking her?

All these questions would quickly go out the window as soon as he tugged her into a classroom. Not ready for the sudden jolt, she lost her balance, and if Ezreal wasn't careful, he might get bowled over by a petite Demacian. ]

[Don't worry he got u. Ezreal catches her with his arm]

Easy now. You OK?

[ladyofluminosity]

[ Why did she suddenly feel light? Why did this feel really, really familiar?

And why did her mind suddenly go to a certain tux-wearing vigilante?

Lux stood there, momentarily stunned. Why was her heart racing a bit? ]

Huh? O-oh!

[ She quickly recovers, standing up straight, giving him a look. It doesn't quite have the effect that she was hoping for, with her cheeks slightly pink as they were. ]

You could have warned me, you know.

Sorry. Anyway, there's a passage through here behind the anatomy doll, it should get us outside. After that we'll have to take a bit longer route through some of the trees to get us to the dorms unseen. Ready?

Passage? Where? It's just a wall.

[ Ezreal, you're talking nonsense. Still, she may have hoped a bit that he wasn't. Her heart was still racing a bit. It felt almost like an adventure, and while she wasn't one for breaking the rules normally...

Well, she wouldn't mention this time. ]

Any good explorer knows there's more to it than meets the eye.

[He pops open a nearby fuse box and flips one of the switches near the bottom. The wall slowly slides away, opening into a dark corridor with a few fluorescent lights strung along it]

This will get us out by some bushes near the commons, but we'll have to be careful. I think it's primarily used when the professor needs a bit of a tonic after dealing with us kids for too long.

[ladyofluminosity]

You're just saying--

[ Hearing something pop and the wall begin to move, Lux stops, eating her words. She turns her head quickly toward the anatomic dummy, catching sight of the wall as it stops moving. ]

That...

[ She quickly looks at Ezreal, her eyes wide, before brisking walking toward the new passage way. She looks in, then at Ezreal, in again, then finally back at Ezreal. ]

How did you--?

I canvassed this place when I got here, and followed a lot of the professors discreetly. The older ones especially usually know all the interesting secrets, and a building like this is full of them.

[ladyofluminosity]

[ It finally clicks. ]

That's how you get to club before I do, even though you're on the other side of the campus!

I told you, I know all the shortcuts.

[ladyofluminosity]

I have to say, I'm impressed. Although I guess it's to be expected, since it's you.

[ Okay, they've stood there long enough. Her excitement is about to peak here. She smiles genuinely for the first time today, bright and--gasp--a bit playfully, heading toward the hidden passageway. ]

Well, come on! I want to see the inside!

[The tunnel is fairly short, and sure enough it leads out to some bushes just outside the commons. The area isn't too well traversed right now, but there is some traffic]

All right, next step. See those boxes over there? They'll get us on to the roof. We cross over to the large oak which we can climb down and into the wooded area. There's a trail that leads to the dorms, if anyone's jogging it they're skipping this thing too so it won't be suspicious.

[ladyofluminosity]

[ Normally she might not be so averse to a bit of exercise, and running around would probably warm her up in this cold, but...

Her hands immediately pin her skirt to her legs as a look of dread washes over her face. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea. ]

You go first.

[ And if you even think about looking up as she's climbing down that tree, she'll deck you. Right then and there. ]

No problem.

[He hops nimbly up onto the roof and waits at the edge]

Let me know if you need a hand.

[ladyofluminosity]

[ She didn't remember him being so athletic before. How did he move so fast?

The only real difficulty she had with climbing was keeping anyone from seeing something they shouldn't. If she was moving too slow, he might want to help her, otherwise she'll be able to pull herself up. ]

[He pulls her up.]

All right, first step clear. Let's go.

[He leads her over and sure enough, there's the tree to hop down]

Do you want me to go first or do you want to go first?

I'll go first.

[ She is extremely careful climbing down most of the way, jumping down at the first chance available. ]

[Ezreal hops down nimbly, taking about half the time]

All right, not too long now.

[He leads her through the path, a nice wooded path that has signs of regular wear from joggers]

I figure this is probably the safest place... if you don't mind. It's my dorm. Roomie's out so it'd just be us. That OK?

[ladyofluminosity]

[ She looks a bit hesitant. He likely lived in a co-ed dorm, so she wouldn't technically be breaking rules. But at the same time, spending time in a boy's room...

They didn't have anywhere else they could go to get away, did they? It wasn't ideal, but there were no other easy options. ]

I... don't mind much.

[ Lux looks down a bit. ]

Great, let's go. We can watch or play something and wait this out.

[He leads her into the dorm, which is more or less deserted. Taking the elevator, they get up to the 4th floor]

Oh. Right. Uh. Sorry for the mess.

[As they enter, it is, indeed, a mess. The two beds are bunked separately, and there's a pile of junk and random curiosities on his desk, bed, and general half of the room.]

[ladyofluminosity]

[ Looking around the bedroom, her eyes wide in disbelief, the blond crosses her arms. ]

How can you live like this?! It's a literal pigsty!

[ Without missing a beat, she unbuttons her blazer, taking it off and tossing it on whichever bed she assumes is his. She then unbuttons her shirt cuffs, beginning to roll her sleeves up. ]

Hey, I get busy. I know where everything is.

A messy room means a messy mind. I'm doing you a favor. Don't worry, I won't disrupt your messy Feng Shui too much. Anyway, I need somewhere to sit.

[ She gets to work, starting on a rather sinister pile of clutter on his desk. It was really ridiculous, inviting a girl over when you had any and everything out for all to see. Boys. ]

How do you even use this desk with all this--

[ Sorting through the pile on Ezreal's desk, she nearly misses it in the shuffle. She even holds the mask in her hand for a few seconds, ready to put it in the pile of items to ask him about where it belonged. When it finally registers, she stops mid-sentence, standing there, staring at it.

Her brain hasn't quite caught up with her eyes yet. Huh. This looks like something the Masked Debonair might... wear... ]
