HOMECOMING HAUNTINGS
| EVENT TIME! |
Every year toward the end of October, Valoran Academy and Valoran University hosts their Homecoming events. These are times where both schools invite alumni, as well as incoming or prospective students to tour the school, get a feel for clubs and events, and whatnot. Taking place over an entire week instead of a day, the event is capped by a big sports day, where various teams from the high school and college play at home, and the homecoming dance later in the evening.
Valoran Academy has drawn Piltover Prep for their competitors this year, and Valoran University will further fuel their rivalry with Demacia College. Students from both schools, as well as those from schools around Valoran (and surrounding areas of Runeterra that people may not have heard of) are invited to attend the games and collective Valoran Institute Homecoming Dance respectively.
This year's theme is a bit unorthodox, as a few students mentioned that it was unfair that they could not celebrate their favorite Shadow Isles-themed holiday during the same weekend, [REDACTED], so the student council has decided to collapse both themes together. This year's Homecoming will be a bit spookier than usual, with cobwebs and creepies harrowing the hallowed halls.
But not all of these supposed costumed coucilmembers are playing pretend! Around 9pm, the thick fog that had been settling over the campus will flood in, and with it, the stuff of nightmares! Maybe they came for the punch? Or to be punched? It's really hard to say.
[[OOC: This is an open log event! Players can do whatever they want, and assume that whatever scenario related to the above prompt is possible. In addition to this, this event acts as a fourth wall event, allowing for characters outside of the League of Legends

Lotus mom is here. (ota, going on throughout the week)
As it turns out, only one of these things is true.
It would be unbecoming for the petite headmistress to not greet any and all visitors. Unbecoming and unsafe, considering Valoran Institute's reputation for producing great heroes of legend.
Of course, certain precautions need to be taken on her part. The representative of an entire city-state, and carting her own history with the school that might make her a prime target, Karma has gone to great lengths to make sure her personal safety is taken care of as well. She may not look... completely there while walking around. In fact, it's quite easy to see through her projection. She may even look a bit ghost-like herself, drifting through the halls with grace. ]

The young man was confused no matter how it was seen, he looked all about as students bustled to place decorations every which way. He didn't quite understand what all the excitement was about, dancing? He danced circles around thugs all day. School? Why did he even need it? He was already practically a genius for inventing a time machine...
'whiiiich required a few kinks' he mentally noted.
He scratched the back of his head as he crumbled the schedule, winding up as he pitched it straight at the person in front of him, accidentally of course.
"Oooohhh.... Sorry yo... Didn't think someone'd be there...! Uhh..."
Damn. She was hot.

Karma stopped, noticing the errant ball of paper, and turned in the direction that it was thrown. She didn't look bemused, per se, but she certainly wasn't angry. No, it was somewhere closer to amusement, a perfectly manicured eyebrow quirked slightly as she looked at the teen.
"I imagine that went a bit differently than planned?" She asked, coolly. Either he was in big trouble, or... well, okay no, he was probably in big trouble.
no subject
He gulped, a hand shakily and slowly raised to point towards the other.
"Y-Yo... y-you're not a....ghost...right...? 'cuz I mean... uhhh y'look like an angel."
He gave a nervous full toothed grin, anything to save him from a Harrowing. His eyes darted to the crumpled ball, then towards the 'specter'.
"W-Well like, I wasn't really plannin' on you bein' there is all.... Eh heh..."
Ekko pls.
Still, Ekko was afforded a smirk from the apparition. "An angel," She curled a finger at her lips, looking deep in thought. "That would be a first. No, nothing like that."
"Oh, and what were you planning, exactly?" Do tell, Ekko, inquiring headmistresses would like to know. Although, considering that she had not set a physical foot within the school since her days as a student, that fact was easy enough to miss. She did look quite a bit different nowadays, even as a projection.

OTA, any time before the last!
Which is why for the rest of the week he's: ]
i
[ Running around campus with his signature blade on his shoulder, knocking on the doors of every magically inclined club trying to get an appropriate enchantment for ghostbusting. ]
ii
[ Going to jump out at people yelling random things like "DEMACIAAAA!" when they walk under his perch. It seems entertaining enough. ]
I. (assuming he's visiting the high school campus too)
Oh how wrong she was. ]
Starlight--
[ Hey Garen, it sounds like someone's in here! They're not answering when you knock, but maybe you should ask them for help! ]
no subject
Excuse me.
[ He just opens the door. Clubrooms aren't supposed to be locked, are they? Well, too bad if they are, because he accidentally crushed it in his grip. ]

[ It was nearly impossible to hear someone knocking over the literal light show that was her transformation. Thankfully enough, magical girl transformation sequences seemed to function as some kind of zero time anomaly that they 1) seemingly take forever to the observer, and 2) don't actually take any time at all.
It's complicated, don't ask.
Standing in her ending pose as Garen walks in, she stands there, frozen. ]
Ah..?
[ WHY. WHY THIS? Oh lord please don't let him recognize her. ]

BONK.
"WWWUWHUAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
CLANK.
"WOOOOHUUAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
CLONK.
Went Ekko's bat upon Garen's person as he tried to beat down the zombie. He hated the Harrowing. HATED IT.
no subject
"OOF!"
CLANK.
"OW."
CLONK.
"OKAY COULD YOU STOP NOW, THIS IS OVERKILL."
Garen grabs the bat before Ekko could continue with the barrage of attacks. A fight-or-flight instinct finely tuned to 'fight' was nice and all, but there was definitely something to be said for not unleashing everything on a prankster.

Ekko shuddered as he saw the blows he inflicted upon the other, wincing.
"Yo man... I'm real sorry maybe I can get you like... some ice or somethin'... like seriously I'm just... Harrowing stuff just 'aint really my thing y'know...?"

[ Greeting alumni and future prospective students was the job of the student council and the welcoming committee, and while Lux was not part of the former (she was only a freshman, so maybe next year?), she was more than happy to volunteer for the latter. Wearing a t-shirt with a poro on it, a cute skirt, and a giant sticker with her name on it underneath "Ask me questions!," this blond was ready to take on any challenge!
Even if that challenge meant unusual or bizarre questions. Or other things she might not necessarily want to deal with. ]

[ She didn't even make it to the dance this time, which was a bit of a blessing and a curse, all told. Still, having zombies flood the field during the halftime show was NOT the way she wanted to spend her Saturday.
Although honestly? She had gotten used to the whole magical girl thing. The closet nerd in her actually looked forward to times where she would be able to do some monster mauling.
Sneaking off to what she assumed was a secluded, closed off area, the blond transformed into her alter ego, and found a way to the top of the bleachers. There... was probably an easier way that didn't involve her actually climbing
why did her mind go to a certain rule-bending not!buddy of hers, but she certainly didn't know it. Hopefully no one saw any of that. ]Hold it right there!
[ She pointed dramatically at the field. Maybe you're in the bleachers? On the field? Are you the one she's pointing at?
Or, perhaps, you managed to see a certain blond color guard sneak off and not return? ]

Eyeing the girl top to bottom, he raised a brow. Maybe she knew where class 14A was.
" 'scuse me Blondie, yo uh... happen ta know where the Physics rooms are? 'cuz I'm hella lost and a tiiiiiny bit pissed that I gotta even be in a class this... uh... I dunno... weak?"
Ekko let the schedule flip through his fingers once more before he flicked it into the air, watching it slowly drift onto the table in front of the girl.
"I mean, I'm 'sposed to ask you questions, right?"
no subject
Her elbow propped on the table top, the blond sighed, absently playing with her hair a bit, pulling a hair tie loose from her wrist and binding it back. She hardly realized that he was talking to her at first, the 'blondie' comment passing over her head. The question, however, caught her attention.
"Physics, huh?"
Hmm. Physics, weak eh? Lux made a mental note; hey were still looking for a few more team members for the Science Olympiads, after all. "That depends on who is teaching it."
Scrambling to pluck the floating schedule out of the air, she did her best to not give the other teen a look. He reminded her of someone. Maybe she shouldn't extend that invitation. One Ezreal, she could handle. Two, however, might be pushing it.
She flipped the paper over, taking a look. "Oh, that teacher. You'll have fun. Let's see..." Lux paused, leaning toward her table partner to say something before exchanging a nod. "I can take you over there now, if you want. It's easier than giving directions."
no subject
He wanted to make a statement.
'I'm straight up better than all of you guys so let's just get this over with, alright?' He mused, yeah maybe he'd say that... or... 'Don't get too close there Blondie. I'll give this school a year tops before they recognize that I don't belong here and send me straight to graduation.'
He grinned at his own thoughts as he was jolted from them, eyes looking at who she was whispering at.
" s'at so? Is the school really that freakin' big...? Alright, lead the way. Blondie."
He realized that sounded rude. But who wore a 'Ask me questions!' sticker without like... a name tag? He shook his head as he began to follow.

He skidded to a halt at the sight of a magical girl, more out of curiosity than because she had told him to, but stopping was stopping.]
Oh god what are YOU doing here?
brb collecting all the time brats
I think the question you should be asking yourself is what are YOU doing with that box!
[ Getting down from the bleachers was significantly easier. Taking a leap from the top, she landed with a flourish, brandishing her staff in his direction. ]
The Harrowing is supposed to be a fun time, and between you and the spooks here, I'm seeing more tricks than treats! Using the fog as a smokescreen for illegal activity is wrong, and by the light of Demacia, I will punish you for your transgressions!
no subject
He'd make an attempt, at least, but Lux had always been a little...single minded.]
Hey wait, I'm one of the good guys here!
[He reached behind him and put one hand on the Z-Drive starter while plotting escape routes in his head. Let's see, she'd probably open up with a lucent singularity...]
