MID-TERM STRETCH

EVENT TIME!

( soundtrack )

Legend says that the very first Mid-Term Stretch was started by a young Yordle professor looking to make an impact at the school. While the details of the competition were lost to antiquity, Valoran Institute was forever changed. Every year since then, the school has hosted this day-long event after mid-term exams, as a way to not only let students blow off a bit of steam after tests, but also foster their naturally competitive tendencies in a--mostly--non-violent fashion. While much of the faculty knew what the competition would be well beforehand, they kept quiet, although a few rumors began to circulate.

Still, no amount of rumors would prepare the student body for the over-the-top competition that this year would offer.

Practically overnight, the campus was transformed into a makeshift battlefield. Platforms were erected on either side of the campus--one blue, and one red--with a wide array of items, all color-coded for each side. Students and faculty alike would be gathered in the middle area, where a much larger than usual projection of Karma stood.

"Good morning, one and all," Her voice boomed, aided by some unforeseen force. "Welcome to our 100th annual Mid-Term Stretch competition. I'll not keep you long. All of you should have received a message on your phones with a color. This will be your team for the duration of the event. Once you have received your team color, please move to your assigned position to pick up your gear, and directions for the rest of the event."

She paused, looking over the student and faculty body carefully. Her words are slow, measured. "I understand that it may be quite tempting to use this opportunity to deface our beautiful school. I would advise against this, unless the student in question is willing to live with the immediate consequences."

Karma smiled faintly. "I wish you all victory. Good luck and have fun."

[[OOC: This is an open log event! The Valoran Institute campus will be divided into five main points. These points must be captured and held. How? Students will be provided weapons and similar implements, all of which fire or spread either red or blue paint, depending upon their particular side. Your objective is to cover the area in your color. Points are kept real-time. Much of this is thematic in actual role play. Just beat the crap out of each other with paint guns and other things. Feel free to pick whatever color team for your character, but for ease of use, put either RED SIDE or BLUE SIDE in the subject line.]]

With an unwarranted amount of gusto in his step, Ekko practically pranced into the paint armory himself. Strapping into a backpack with a tube that attatched straight to a gun he grinned. This was surely his time. This was going to be kick ass. He needed this. He wanted this.

Kicking his way out of the door he smashed a canister of red paint and with his hand smeared in its color, slapped his hand print directly on his face.

He was about to show this school how crazy Zaunites really were when they were amped up.

"AWWWRIGGGGHTTTT WHO WANTS SOME?!"

BLUE TEAM FOR LIFE

Garen could be found holding the line near the windmill, dressed in blue armour and quite naturally, a pair of tinted goggles. Sunglasses and machismo, those were the themes for today. In his hands a massive sword could be found, although "sword" was probably stretching it. It was more like an incredibly huge paint roller, although at least whoever designed it had the decency to make it so it could be fed paint through a tube that led to the tanks on his back.

A massive melee weapon was actually a fairly poor defensive weapon all things considered, but he had been helping organise the defensive line, finalising the formation of the defensive line for the other students who actually had paintball guns. He was pretty damn good at it too, making sure that anyone who tried to get close would be made to face a crossfire of pellets from Blue Team members in cover.

Unfortunately, this meant nobody was actually getting close enough for him to actually get any action, and Garen Crownguard was getting antsy. Somebody come challenge him!

[ She wanted to be on blue team, so desperately wanted to be on blue team that she almost attempted to swap with someone else. Blue was righteous, blue was majestic. Red was violent, barbaric. It was tragic. Absolutely tragic.

Did that mean that she wasn't going to try? Heck no! Equipped with an oversized Lacrosse racket, the handle attached to a paint back on her back, she sprung into action. Knowing that her weapon wasn't meant for pure firepower, she stuck to the routes that Ezreal showed her, the secret passages, looking to snipe people and run. Or, depending on who was on her team, partner up.

Red or not, she was going to win. There was just no question about it. ]
