WEATHER

November proves to be unusually cold this year, with a heavy frost setting in around the second day of the month and lingering throughout. Temperatures during the day are brisk, leading toward positively cold nights, and some begin to wonder whether the school will see an early snowfall this year. Flurries will begin to set in around the 28th of the month.

ONGOING THROUGH NOVEMBER

GIVE THANKS! November ushers in the last of the harvest festivals, and with them, people are encouraged to come together and give thanks for the bountiful harvest for the year. What does this entail? Festivals around the area, usually with livestock and produce, and, of course, parties with lots and lots of food!
EXAMS! The dreaded mid-terms. You knew this time was coming. Did you study for your tests? Do your tests even matter to you? Teachers, are you a sadist? Or will you show your poor students a bit of mercy (the answer is no, you should never show them mercy)? Heaven or Hell, let's rock these tests!
WATCH OUT! The campus has become a dangerous place lately, and we don't just mean the monster attacks! With temperatures dipping below freezing, frost and ice will begin to spread at a surprising rate. It seems a bit suspicious, actually...
OPEN HOUSE! This time of year is notorious for family members to stop by and visit, and, as such, Valoran Institute will be hosting an open house during the early part of the month. Catch up with your dear aunts and uncles, pester your kid siblings, or maybe just try to avoid getting embarrassed by your parents. Good luck, it never works.

MONSTERS OF THE MONTH!
Things seem to be relatively quiet around the campus, surprisingly enough. It seems that those valorous vigilantes have been gaining a bit of notoriety, judging by how the student body has begun talking about them. But don't get too complacent. Rumor has it that strange robed figures have been spotted around the campus, late at night.

MINI EVENT!

MID-TERM STRETCH! With mid-terms over around the 13th, the faculty have gotten together to play a game. In line with their tradition of nurturing young, strong and tactical minds, they have concocted what they call the Mid-Term Stretch! Students will be pitted against each other in a competition. The sport? To be determined. Although rumor has it that it may have something to do with paint...

A minor nuisance. I have tasted the information your world has to offer, and found it pleasing, but there is one particular thing I wish to know.

Thanks. I've been here before, but a long time ago. Nothing is quite how I remember it, and some things are REALLY different. But your little pep talk helped.

[ Any hidden meaning or intensity seems to be lost on her. She's just happy to help! ]

[ Lux looks down at the book in front of her, frowning a bit. This was something that the robot girl would need to truly consider now, wasn't it? ]

It's hard to say why there is injustice in the world, and what reasons people have to do terrible things. But that's what heroes are for, right? To fight against those injustices, because it's the right thing to do.

[ Lux was sure that she did well on her exams. She might even wager a bet that she was, once again, top of her class. Even after getting sick, she was confident in her stance--so confident, in fact, that she waited until the end of the day to look at the results.

Wandering toward the large bulletin board where results were posted, Lux hummed to herself a bit. Let's see... ]

[ Her fingers twitched at her side. There... there was no way! Who beat her?! She looked over the names again. ]

[ History she could give a pass--if it was anyone other than Ezreal--since they were within a few points of each other. Her score wasn't even close to first place in Physics! She was furious! Garen your sister is about to go supernova in the hallway. ]

Zaun. I had to stop coming for financial reasons. This school ain't cheap.

Buuuut now I have a scholarship, so it's back into the lap of ridiculous luxury for me.

[The lie was smooth. It should be. He had worked it out ages ago and practiced it.]

[ A scholarship student, huh? That was pretty impressive. The fact that he was from Zaun was interesting as well, she wasn't sure she knew too many students, and the ones she did weren't nearly as genial. It was really refreshing. ]

Oh really? What kind of scholarship?

Well it was the OH look at the time gotta run!

[Note to self: come up with which scholarship it was before anyone else asks you.]

Good. I have another gift for you. Use it wisely. [ A doppleganger appearing, holding a few file folders, LeBlanc takes them as the clone disappears, laying them down on Swain's desk. He'll find an interesting array of students, along with their records and suspected aliases. ] People of interest. I know you're out for revenge, after the Enlightened One got the better of you. [ Is she smug? Maybe a little bit. ]

[Ezreal is surprisingly compliant in ducking into an empty classroom and not complaining while Lux fetches a medkit]

[ Fetching a medkit from a storage area, Lux proceeds to start cleaning him up. She looks surprisingly dour as she does. ]

A man of my stature can't bother fixating on petty things like revenge. If the opportunity were to arise, certainly it would be gratifying, but duty comes first.

[He takes the files, flipping through them almost idly]

[ She bids him to enter, hardly looking up from her book as he enters. A vase of blue roses sits on her desk, and overall it looks very classy, albeit a bit dark. ]

I see you waste no time. A lesser man might have made a lady wait.

[ Her lips quirk into a half smile as she puts her book down, careful to mark where she left off with a bit of black ribbon. ]

I imagine you know why I've asked you to meet with me, Mister Crownguard.

[ His response gets a few snickers and more than a couple surprised gasps from his classmates. LeBlanc, however, seems unphased. ]

Most well known scholars receive that status posthumously. Given that you are still very much alive, I doubt it is wise to refer to yourself as an authority on such matters, lest you wish your own life cut tragically short.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind teach. More to the point, if you don't want the best, list the journals you want used and I'll cite 'em. I've probably memorized most of them anyway.

[ LeBlanc's favorite teacher's pet. The Du Couteau family has a long history within Noxus, one that even she would have to respect. She gives the girl a bit of a smile. ]

I'm sure he is the most Noxian of Noxians. [ It's really the most insulting thing Garen can think of, but apparently Cassiopeia thinks it's a compliment, so he'll leave it at that. ]

I might start, if I ever want to be your brother. I don't. I'm quite happy having Katarina as an opponent. [ Amongst other things. ]

I pride myself on my punctuality, ma'am.

[ "Lady" wasn't a word he'd ever use to describe Professor LeBlanc. Sure, she looked like a young, attractive woman, but the way she carried herself... He preferred "witch," and other words that rhymed with witch. Thankfully for Garen, he's very good at putting on a stiff poker face for dealings with difficult superiors. ]

I have a few ideas, but I'd rather not presume. Guesswork makes fools of the best of us.

[ Lux must have been very mad if she didn't notice the giant of a man walking through VCAD's hallways like he owned the place, but there he was anyway, walking around like he owned the place. Some people knew Garen by sight and let him pass, others just didn't want to question the guy who looked like he had shoulders the size of normal people's heads. ]

It looks like you got first in the level overall. Good job, Luxanna.

[ A hand pats her on the shoulder, as Garen reads the bulletin board with interest. She got first in almost ever subject and second in the others, that was a pretty good score if he ever saw one. Certainly better than Garen with his current struggles with history. (Not that university students were ranked like that.) ]

Surely it would be most efficient to eliminate the source of these injustices. However, studies show that people who cause these crimes are often victims of injustice themselves. And that is a recurrence problem that would be difficult to solve with most elements unknown.

[ She was furious. Livid, even. Ever since she began attending Valoran Institute, she was the top of her class, standing alone in first place while any jealous looker-ons (of which she imagined there were at least some) watched, awed and inspired by her success.

The fact that she was beaten in one subject was enough to make her angry. Two, well. It nearly pushed her over the top. So much so, that she hardly registered her own brother's voice at first. ]
